BSc Professional Accountancy with University of London

The University of London and ACCA have launched an integrated BSc Professional Accountancy Programme, offering students the opportunity to earn both; a globally recognized academic degree and the ACCA professional qualification through a single study route. This innovative collaboration allows learners to progress towards becoming members of the leading global accountancy body while simultaneously gaining a respected UK university degree, streamlining their path to becoming qualified finance professionals. With global flexibility and recognition across 180 countries, the Programme enhances employability and supports both academic and professional development in the field of accountancy.

Eligibility Criteria  

If you are considering applying for the BSc Professional Accountancy Programme, you will firstly need to check that you can meet the eligibility criteria.

  1. ACCA Student

If you meet all of the criteria below you will be eligible for the Programme.

  • You have no outstanding debt or legal flags on your ACCA account.
  • You have passed or gained exemptions for all of these ACCA Applied Knowledge exams: (Business and Technology, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting) and Corporate and Business Law exams.
  • You have passed, with ACCA, the Financial Reporting, Taxation, and Audit and Assurance exams. Should you have an exemption for any of these exams, you will need to forfeit the exemption and pass the exam with ACCA. Note: You will not be able to forfeit any exemption if you have already passed a Strategic Professional exam.
  • From the start date of when you start the BSc Programme, no more than five years have passed since the achievement of your first ACCA passes or achievement of the qualification that provided your eligible exemptions (whichever is earlier).
  1. ACCA Affiliate or Member

If you meet all of the criteria below you will be eligible for the Programme.

  • You have no outstanding debt or legal flags on your ACCA account.
  • You have passed or gained exemptions for all of these ACCA Applied Knowledge exams: (Business and Technology, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting) and Corporate and Business Law exams.
  • You have passed, with ACCA, the Financial Reporting, Taxation, and Audit and Assurance exams. If you received an exemption for any of these exams, you will not be eligible.
  • From the start date of when you start the BSc Programme, no more than five years have passed since the achievement of your first ACCA passes or achievement of the qualification that provided your eligible exemptions (whichever is earlier).
  1. Not yet registered with ACCA

In order to apply for the BSc Professional Accountancy Programme, you must first be a registered ACCA student and meet the student eligibility criteria.

Programme structure And Duration

Programme duration will be (minimum) 1 to 3 (maximum) years

The BSc Professional Accountancy degree is made up of two 30-credit point modules (aligned to ACCA’s Performance Management and Financial Management exams) and a 60-credit point Project Module.

The Programme is structured so that its modules are taught and completed in sequence over approximately 12 months. Upon successful completion of all modules, you will be awarded the BSc Professional Accountancy. Additionally, by passing the two exam-based modules, you will gain exemptions from ACCA’s Performance Management (PM) and Financial Management (FM) exams.
